Megan Cotter for
State Representative
As a working mom, Megan knows how hard it is to pay the bills and make a better future for her family. She has delivered results that matter: making life more affordable, protecting our rural land, investing in healthcare and schools, keeping our communities safe, and helping neighbors who need it most.

A working mother who gets things done. A neighbor to represent our values.
Megan is a working mother and a sales manager who put herself through the University of Rhode Island. A fire destroyed her home in 2017, and coming back from it shaped how she understands what her neighbors are carrying and how fast a family's footing can disappear.
She has represented District 39 since 2023 and was named a 2024 “20 Under 40” leader by the Council of State Governments. She's backing the Affordable RI plan because it is the same fight she has been having at the State House. Housing people can afford to stay in, healthcare and childcare that don't eat a paycheck, fully funded public schools, and wages that make full-time work enough.
What she has already delivered
Raised tax exemptions for retirees and passed a child tax credit
Secured added funding for regional school districts
Raised Medicaid reimbursement rates and funded rides to care
Created the Forest Management Commission and sponsored green bonds
Paid for by Affordable RI, not authorized by any candidate or candidate's committee.
