ABOUT AFFORDABLE RI

Affordable RI is building a movement to elect working-class candidates to state and local office across Rhode Island. We believe every family deserves housing, healthcare, and a dignified life — not just the wealthy and well-connected. Our canvassers are on the front lines of that work.

About the Role

We're hiring Paid Canvassers to go door-to-door across Rhode Island, talk with voters, and help elect a new generation of working-class candidates in 2026. This is real, meaningful work that wins elections and changes policy. Position runs July – November 2026.

    • Canvass neighborhoods across Rhode Island, knocking doors and talking with voters

    • Make phone bank calls to support voter contact goals

    • Track and enter data accurately after each shift

    • Represent Affordable RI's values and agenda in the field

    • Comfortable talking with strangers or willing to get there fast

    • Reliable, on time, and able to work independently in the field

    • Able to walk and talk for 3–4 hours at a time with breaks

    • Access to reliable statewide transportation required

    • No prior experience necessary, we will train you

    • Competitive hourly pay with performance bonuses

    • Hands-on training in field organizing

    • Real experience in Rhode Island's progressive movement

    • A network that opens doors after 2026
